Despite Toby Alderweireld being touted as one of Manchester United’s main transfer targets over the summer window, Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly yet to even receive a bid for his services.
Man United are still pursuing a new centre-back on transfer deadline day and hope to bring one in before 5pm this evening but Tottenham’s valuation of Alderweireld continues to put them off.
Spurs are said to be keen to get the 29-year-old off their books before the 2018-19 season gets underway, however, United still wait to make their move.
BBC Sport journalist Simon Stone claims that no offer for Alderweireld has been tabled and the chances of Jose Mourinho not bolstering his squad at all today are rising.
Colombia international Yerry Mina and Bayern Munich’s Jerome Boateng are two other names heavily linked with United over the transfer window, but Stone reports that Mina’s agent’s fees have put them off and Boateng is only wanted on loan – an idea Bayern aren’t keen on.
Leicester City defender Harry Maguire is hoping to arrive at Old Trafford before the deadline, but he is said to be valued at £75m and United have already had two bids turned down, with the second worth £60m.
