Barcelona director Ariedo Braida has revealed the club’s intentions for Manchester United star Paul Pogba after rumours emerged of a possible transfer.
The Spanish side are said to be interested in signing the Frenchman who hasn’t truly shut down any rumours of a potential departure.
It’s also understood Pogba’s agent has been busy attempting to secure a move abroad with the La Liga club and PSG the main targets.
The midfielder’s future has been up in the air ever since he’s been butting heads with Jose Mourinho and things don’t look rosy at all.
It’s highly unlikely the United board will allow Paul to leave, particularly since he can’t be replaced with the transfer window being shut.
According to Manchester Evening News, Ariedo said to Radio Sportive: “I don’t think we’re going to move for Pogba, but he’s a great player.”
There is the feeling if it came down to the club or fans picking between Mourinho or Pogba, they will choose the latter.
After all, the Portuguese boss was brought in as a way to steady the ship and bring in the trophies but he’s known to be short-term.
Paul is the club’s present and future meaning it would take a lot of cash to ever see him leave Old Trafford again.
A world record fee is potentially the only thing that would work but that’s only ever if it really came down to it.
