Valencia are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United star Juan Mata as new emerges once more on a potential departure.
The Spaniard’s future at the club hasn’t been safe ever since Jose Mourinho was brought to Old Trafford two seasons ago.
However, Mata has survived just far so things can’t be as terrible as some rumours claim they are, particularly since he features for United fairly frequently.
The former Chelsea man though could see his place in the starting XI go to Jesse Lingard following the World Cup England enjoyed this summer.
The academy product has gone from strength to strength under Mourinho since the beginning of the last season and may be the favourite to start on the right flank.
According to Manchester Evening News, the Sun report Valencia are only interested in signing Juan if they can land him for free when his contract runs out next summer.
Lingard suits the Jose type of player more than the playmaker does as he tends to favour pacy, direct players.
Mata is now 30 years old so the club may be tempted to move him on but there’s no doubt it would only happen if they can cash in on him.
