Jose Mourinho: We hope to play like we did against Tottenham

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has predicted how proceedings will go against Burnley, calling on his players to play like how they did against Tottenham.

Although the clash against the London club ended in a 3-0 win for the visitors at Old Trafford, many believed the home side played well.

United were punished for not taking their chances as well as making defensive errors once again.

The Portuguese manager has insisted several times his side didn’t deserve to lose the way they did based on performance.

Mourinho believes if they can repeat the performance but have luck on their side this time then they can secure a win.

According to Manchester Evening News, Jose said: “There are defeats and defeats. A defeat always means zero points but there are defeats and defeats.

“I think the feeling was a great frustration and a great sense of it [the result against Tottenham] not being fair at all, far from it.

“But during the week people transform that into motivation to work and once more the week was very, very good and we just hope to play as well as we did against Tottenham but with a different luck and a different result.”

A win against Burnley is normally expected but all three points are even more crucial given the Red Devils’ start to the season.

Mourinho’s men have lost two their first three fixtures so far and are almost being threatened with relegation on the table.

Back to back losses against Brighton and Tottenham have been telling and Burnley have the opportunity to compound more misery on Manchester United.

Jose has a lot of pressure on him to turn things around and will have to do so quickly or face losing his job.
