Former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is already reportedly preparing for the Manchester United role by putting together a transfer targets list.
The Frenchman is said to be the favourite to take over from under-fire manager Jose Mourinho should he depart from Old Trafford.
The Portuguese is expected to be backed for a few more months before any knee-jerk decisions are taken but should things continue following United’s poor start then Zidane will have a shot at the job.
Mourinho’s men have won twice and lost twice in their opening four fixtures and face the in-form Watford next week after the International break.
The pressure is on for him to lead his side further up the table and even put in a challenge for the Premier League title.
According to Sports Mole, the Mirror report that Zinedine already has a list of players prepared in case the Red Devils do appoint him with the likes of Toni Kroos, James Rodriguez, Thiago and Edinson Cavani all targeted.
It’s an ambitious list for sure but the signings of the likes of Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Romelu Lukaku were all thought to be impossible before they happened.
Perhaps Zidane’s reputation will also help Manchester United bring in those star names but first, he actually has to be offered the job.
