Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has responded to the leaked report that stated he would be fired regardless of the team’s result against Newcastle.
Fortunately for the Portuguese boss his side managed to grab a comeback win having been 2-0 down within the the first 10 minutes of the game.
United scored three times in the last 20 of the clash to secure the victory and relieve some pressure from Mourinho’s shoulders.
The club had previously leaked that Sir Alex Ferguson would retire before it became true and similar reports emerged on David Moyes as well as Louis van Gaal‘s futures too.
It would certainly be tough for the Red Devils to fire Jose now after the win and with the fans so clearly on his side.
“The ones that read the papers, that are connectEd with social media … they thought maybe I had gone… if I hadn’t had an SMS from my board not to read (the papers) I would have been convinced too..” #Mourinho on @talksport soon#MUFC pic.twitter.com/UQpcwu1qoZ

If there is any truth in the reports it’s likely the board won’t need to wait too long to do as they wish as there’s a feeling Jose is still on borrowed time.
After the October international break, Manchester United face a string of difficult opponents and poor results against any of them could see him leave.
Mourinho will be praying more so now than ever before that all his players return from the break without having suffered any injuries.
