Marcus Rashford has been hailed for his character after a generous act of the Englishman was revealed online last night.
The Manchester United striker is much-loved by fans of his club, who he has played for from a very young age, and England.
Rashford broke into the Man United first team in stunning fashion with two consecutive braces in UEFA Europa League and Premier League debuts back in February 2015. Despite his meteoric rise, Rashford is well-known for keeping a close circle of friends that he had before his global reputation grew.
That has allowed him to stay well-grounded and contributes to much of the love for Rashford. He celebrated his 21st birthday on October 31st and one journalist revealed a brilliant act of generosity from the birthday boy in his hometown of Manchester to a few kids celebrating Halloween.
Simon Austin tweeted on Wednesday night: “My 8 year old has just been trick or treating with 4 other friends in Sale. Nice man pulled up in his car. Lady in passenger seat said ‘sing happy birthday, he’s 21 today’, so they did.
“And he gave each of them a £20 note. Thank you @marcusrashford.”
It’s great to hear Rashford has been making a kids’ day and it speaks volume of the man.
As he turned 21, it was a reminder that he remains immensely young despite being a world-renowned footballer who has played in a World Cup semi-final. He has maturity beyond his years and just how young he is ought to be remembered throughout the season.
