Phil Neville: Paul Pogba caused Manchester United problems

Former Manchester United star Phil Neville has blasted Paul Pogba for his performance vs Southampton, claiming he caused the club problems rather than providing solutions.

The Frenchman was in the starting XI for the clash having been substituted last weekend against Crystal Palace and dropped for Young Boys mid-week.

Many hoped a fresh Pogba would easily dismantle a poor Saints side but instead he was one of United’s worst performers.

Neville believes there was no way anyone could defend the midfielder’s display and was not impressed with how he conducted himself.

Fans were also disappointed with Paul as they felt he had given up on the club and no longer wishes to be there.

Pogba must take some responsibility for his recently poor form but Jose Mourinho is also part of the problem.

It’s not as though the former Juventus star is the only one failing to play up to standards with many of the club’s players proving to be shadows of themselves.

Though United’s defence is concerning, with the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku, Juan Mata and Anthony Martial in their attack, they should cause more damage moving forward.

Whatever the problem is, it’s clear to see if it’s not solved then the manager will lose his job.
