Manchester United fans excited by Alexis Sanchez’s return vs Newcastle

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United fans were excited by Alexis Sanchez’s return from injury and first match under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and they weren’t let down.

The Chilean couldn’t start the clash against Newcastle but came off the bench to great effect, helping his side win 2-0.

Solskjaer brought on Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku after his side struggled to break down the home team and both players were instrumental.

The Belgian pounced on an error from Newcastle’s goalkeeper while the winger set Marcus Rashford up beautifully for the insurance goal.

Ole would’ve definitely have been delighted by both their performances and would’ve felt justified for bringing them onto the pitch.

Alexis initially seemed to struggle after coming on as he failed to beat his man or hold onto the ball effectively but once the defining moment came, he didn’t falter.

After that the former Arsenal man seemed far more confident, even electing to selfishly attempt to net a goal himself rather than slip in a teammate late on.

Supporters will be hoping the substitute display was a sign of what’s to come and that Sanchez can become what he was meant to be- an important part of this United side.
