Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar rules out joining Manchester United

by Leo Nieboer

Inter Milan defender and Manchester United target Milan Skriniar has emphatically ruled out the prospect of leaving the San Siro any time soon.

The Slovak centre back was one of the defenders Jose Mourinho wanted Man United to sign over the summer transfer window.

Skriniar admitted in an interview earlier this season that he was flattered by the interest shown in him by Mourinho, although stressed he was going nowhere.

“When some coach like Jose says that he is looking for a player like me or somebody else, it’s always nice, but I don’t know why these rumours continue,” he said. “I’ve not said anything to anybody, just what you can see on the web.”

“Even if Jose is one of the most famous, best, greatest coaches in the world, it’s not something I think of because I’m playing for Inter and am happy here at Inter.”

He was less courteous talking about links with a move away from Inter on Tuesday, however, responding to a Slovak newspaper headline on his Instagram story with a short and snappy message to the national media.

“You write things that you don’t even know,” he wrote. “You are sh***. Now write an article on this.”

Here’s your article, Milan. Have a nice day!
