Manchester United star Paul Pogba silenced his critics in his side’s 3-1 win over Arsenal at the Emirates in the FA Cup.
The Frenchman has often been wrongly accused of disappearing against top opposition but he certainly couldn’t be missed against the Gunners.
Romelu Lukaku stole the show in the first-half but Pogba ran it in the second-half as his influence on the game grew tremendously.
The midfielder has also often been blamed for failing to track back effectively but the statistics don’t lie in that regard.
Paul was absolutely everywhere on the pitch and it was due to him along with his midfield partners that the Red Devils notched the impressive win.
Paul Pogba vs Arsenal:
100% shot accuracy
83% passing accuracy
35 passes completed – 18 forward
13 recoveries – 2nd most after Matic (14)
11 duels won
3 long balls completed
3 free kicks won
2 dribbles completed

His passes forwards and duels won are definitely pleasing to the eye but it’s actually his recoveries that are a good surprise.
The former Juventus man has proven under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that he is equally willing to do the dirty work even though he’s been handed the freedom to go forward.
Manchester United will need Pogba to keep up these types of performances if they are to climb back into the top four.
More importantly they will need the World Cup winner to put in similar shifts against the bigger opponents as that’s when he will be needed most.
