Manchester United are leading the race to sign 16-year-old AS Monaco midfielder Hannibal Mejbri, according to French media outlet RMC.
Talks between Man United and Monaco have been underway for a few dats, with Mejbri said to be keen on leaving the French club.
An agreement has already been reached with Amiens for striker Noam Emeran and it looks as if United remain keen to bolster their academy with further foreign talent.
According to reliable French media outlet RMC, United are leading the race in terms of concrete interest in Mejbri and have reportedly launched a bid for the midfielder.
The report also states, weirdly, that Monaco are making an attempt to block the move at all costs. This is a club which often serves as a conveyor belt for young talent to be sent to England or Spain or, well, Paris Saint Germain.
However, should the right offer be made, combined with Mejbri wanting to leave, there may well be nothing Monaco can do.
