Manchester United legend Gary Neville has compared Anthony Martial to Cristiano Ronaldo following his performance vs Fulham.
The Frenchman netted on his return to the starting XI after his injury and put in a fantastic display.
Martial’s shift was only overshadowed by Paul Pogba’s dominant performance in which he scored a brace himself.
The former AS Monaco man’s goal was arguably better as he scored after a mazy run, beating two Fulham players before slotting past their keeper.
Neville was clearly impressed with the goal as he compared it to a similar goal that Ronaldo had scored during his time at Old Trafford.
According to Colossus Sports, Gary said: “Magic from Martial. He’s been a threat in the first 20 minutes like you wouldn’t believe.
“I remember Cristiano Ronaldo scoring a goal over the far side some years ago that wasn’t too dissimilar. This is equally as brilliant.
“It’s put Manchester United into a fantastic position.”
Manchester United fans were just pleased that Martial’s injury didn’t disrupt his form, particularly because of the difficult fixture list on the horizon.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has to somehow overcome PSG, Liverpool and Chelsea in back to back games.
Anthony will likely start all three fixtures and will have to be at his best to help United get as many wins as possible.
If the youngster is to live up to the Cristiano comparison then the world-class star is always stepping up at the vital moments for his teams.
It’s a lot of pressure on Martial but many supporters feel he can handle it all.
