Manchester United have reportedly stepped up their interest in former Manchester City star Jadon Sancho in a bid to sign him in the upcoming summer.
The club’s board are said to be keen on an overhaul with the youngster part of those plans.
Many United fans feel the right-wing position is a key area that needs strengthening due to a lack of natural options.
Sancho would certainly add quality to the squad but his transfer not be as simple or as direct as many would like.
According to TalkSport, the Sun report that Jadon would cost the Red Devils £70m with fierce rivals Manchester City having a 15% sell-on clause in their original deal with Borussia Dortmund and a clause to match the offer.
Whoever is the manager at Old Trafford in the summer they’re likely to want to address that position.
However, it’s unlikely the board are willing to spend that big on a relatively raw, young product.
Handing money to City, even indirectly, is also not likely to go down well with the board or even the fans for that matter.
