Former Manchester United man Rene Meulensteen has revealed Sir Alex Ferguson’s delight with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Norwegian is currently caretaker manager of the club and was unbeaten until coming up against French giants PSG.
Solskjaer’s outstanding leadership has seen him drag United back into the top four race despite it being unthinkable before.
In fact, it was one of the main reasons why previous manager Jose Mourinho was sacked in the first place.
Meulensteen claims Sir Alex has been so impressed with Ole’s work, even comparing it to his own.
Meulensteen: “Sir Alex is so impressed with Ole. He is thrilled. He is so happy to see that United are playing in a way that he loves. It was always what he said to the players: ‘Give me something to cheer about. If you entertain me, then you entertain the audience.’” #mufc [VG]

The biggest credit to Solskjaer’s job so far is how he’s suddenly found himself in the run in for the role permanently.
Previously it was Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino who was the clear favourite to be the Manchester United manager.
However, now that doesn’t seem to be the case with many of the club’s stars keen to get their message across that they’re happy with Ole.
Whether the former Molde man is the answer in the long-term only time will tell but right now he’s passing his audition with flying colours.
The truth is a top four finish should secure him the position but some fans are greedy and believe a cup must also be secured.
