Manchester United supporters were delighted with Romelu Lukaku following his goalscoring display vs Southampton.
The Belgian has often been made a scapegoat this season but in recent matches he’s certainly stepped up.
Many questioned whether Lukaku would ever get the magic Ole Gunnar Solskjaer touch that his teammates seemed to enjoy but it’s now clear to see he’s under the same influence.
The striker’s brace against the away side saw his team through in a thrilling 3-2 contest.
Not many can now criticise Romelu given his recent efforts and there will be hope he can keep up his good form as United navigate through their injury-hit period.

Romelu Lukaku deserves huge respect, 4 goals in his last 2 games for us.
Ole making him into a clinical goal scorer, his two goals today were fantastic ???? pic.twitter.com/nXokfAbyL7

Lukaku is ungainly and often struggles in general play but boy has he stepped up this week with 4 fine finishes.

This is exactly what Manchester United need. If Rashford’s not firing, Lukaku has to be. And vice versa. Brilliant.

Lukaku deservedly kept his place up front with Marcus Rashford alongside him and Alexis Sanchez behind him in a diamond formation.
The Red Devils started fantastically well but couldn’t convert their efforts with the former Everton man a little guilty of being wasteful.
Southampton opened the scoring to make Romelu regret his missed opportunities but it wasn’t long before he made them regret his presence on the field.
After the break Manchester United hit back through Andreas Pereira before the powerful forward found the net himself.
James Ward-Prowse netted a fantastic free-kick but Lukaku came up with the goods in the end to ensure the three points remained in Manchester.
