Manchester United reportedly need just £50m to sign Real Madrid star Toni Kroos, a deal previously thought of as impossible.
The German was previously linked with a move to Old Trafford during David Moyes’ reign but the Spanish club are said to have arrived in the eleventh hour to convince him to part ways from Bayern Munich.
Kroos’ would undoubtedly add quality to United’s midfield despite Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s preference for a midfield three of Nemanja Matic, Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba.
The Norwegian is said to be keen on an attacking-midfielder, right-winger and two full-backs but it would be difficult to turn down the Madrid star.
The World Cup winner would be an invaluable addition to any squad so there’s no doubt Europe’s top clubs would be lining up for his signature.
According to the Sun, the Red Devils can sign Toni for just £50m as he is keen to restart his career elsewhere after Real’s disastrous season.
The fee stated is certainly a bargain in today’s market but there are question marks whether the former Bayern man would suit Solskjaer’s style.
It’s said the former Molde manager is expected to be given the permanent role at Old Trafford and Kroos’ lack of pace may see him struggle in a dynamic, high tempo team.
