Manchester United to replace Ander Herrera with Youri Tielemans: report

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United are reportedly planning to replace Ander Herrera with Youri Tielemans as they continue their efforts for a summer rebuild.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a fan of the Spaniard but reports have surfaced that he has signed a pre-contract agreement with PSG since his contract expires in the summer.

United have failed to negotiate a new deal with Herrera so far and it’s possible he would have to depart despite being well-loved.

Tielemans represents the ideal candidate to be brought in considering his age and potential though he will likely cost a chunk of money.

Solskjaer though has been quick to identify his transfer targets for the summer so it’s no surprise he already has someone in mind.

According to TeamTalk, Het Laatste Nieuws report that the Red Devils have added Youri to his transfer targets list as a replacement for Ander though they will have to fight Leicester City to conclude the deal.

Reports have also claimed the only reason why the former Atletico Bilbao man wishes to leave is due to the club refusing to meet his £200k a week demands.

At 29 years of age that represents a poor business for Manchester United but perhaps they should’ve tied his contract up earlier to be in a stronger negotiating position.
