Manchester United are reportedly preparing to raid their Premier League opponents Tottenham Hotspurs for Christian Eriksen.
The Dane is widely considered to be one of English football’s best talents so it’s not a surprise to see him linked with a move to Old Trafford.
The midfielder would definitely add quality to United’s squad and he could walk right into their starting XI without a doubt.
Eriksen was previously thought of as being untouchable but it appears some recent events have turned that situation around.
The 27 year old’s current contract runs out in the summer of 2020 which could work out in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s favour.
According to the Daily Mail, the Red Devils are ready to triple Christian’s £80k a week deal to lure him away from London this summer but will still need to convince Tottenham to cash in.
The capital club won’t like selling directly to one of their top four rivals but they may not have a choice given how they could lose him for free if they don’t sell now.
Manchester United can use that to their advantage, especially if Eriksen really pushes for a move considering the wages he’d earn.
It’s been claimed elsewhere that the likes of Phil Jones don’t earn as little as the former Ajax man which is a travesty in and of itself.
