Manchester United receive huge boost in their pursuit of Nicolas Pepe

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United have received the perfect news in their search for the ideal right-winger this summer.

Nicolas Pepe was reportedly on the club’s transfer wish-list but it was believed that any deal would be impossible or incredibly expensive.

The Ivorian has rightly gained plenty of plaudits for his performances in Ligue 1 this season and so Europe’s best have been keenly hovering over him.

Pepe has notched up 20 goals and 14 assists across all competitions, quickly making him one of the most sought after prospects in football.

United are believed to be chasing a right-winger this summer and who better than the youngster?

According to Teamtalk, Lille president Gerard Lopez said: “Four or five players will be leaving this summer. The departure of Nicolas Pepe is certain.

“He enters a price range that can not be refused anymore. He will have the choice.”

The confirmation from Lopez means the Red Devils should have their tails up as they won’t have a more clear target than that.

Most clubs play hardball, refusing to admit their stars are for sale to bump up their transfer fees.

However, Lille’s admission means Manchester United will only have to compete with other teams for Pepe’s signature.

If the 23 year old decides to move to Old Trafford he would do so knowing the right-wing is easily his given the lack of obvious competition.

Arsenal are also said to be interested in Nicolas so the decision may rest on which team qualifies for next season’s Champions League.
