Gary Neville not pleased with Paul Pogba’s recent form

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has slammed Paul Pogba for his recent form, claiming he has returned to his performances of old.

The Frenchman was dropped towards the end of Jose Mourinho’s reign due to his dip in form until Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s arrival.

The Norwegian revived Pogba and it was almost solely down to his displays that United returned to competing for a top four spot.

However, the former Juventus man has recently looked a shadow of himself and Neville believes he has returned to his previous below-standard form.

Paul’s recent performances have coincided with the Red Devils’ own patchy spell which has left fans concerned with the current situation.

According to Bleacher Report, Gary said: “Pogba is now playing how he was pre-Ole’s arrival. I thought tonight he was really poor, rolling his foot over the ball all the time, playing for himself, not popping up and moving, [he] didn’t look interested at times.

“But he’s a great player, and he can be a great player. He just has to get his focus back.”

If Manchester United and Paul Pogba are unable to turn around their form again, they risk losing out on qualifying for a Champions League spot.

Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal are all competing alongside Solskjaer’s men for the last two spots of the top four and they all appear to be in better form.

There have been suggestions that the United squad are currently exhausted and that would make sense given how they’ve collectively dropped below their standards.

Ole would do well to rest a few of them and rotate the squad appropriately until he can work on their fitness in pre-season.
