Manchester United have reportedly targeted AC Milan star Davide Calabria in their efforts to solve their right-back woes.
Ashley Young has mostly been the first-choice option in that position for much of the season but he’s started to truly frustrate fans.
The Englishman committed an error, not for the first time, vs Barcelona which ended up proving to be costly.
Young was typically an ok option at right-back but he has declined stunningly of late which has seen United linked with a host of right-backs including Calabria.
The Italian was once considered to be amongst the top prospects in Europe and he’s still expected to turn into a top defender.
According to Teamtalk, Calcio Mercato report that Davide has emerged as a real target for the Red Devils who are hoping to convince him to turn down a new deal and move to England.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was said to be originally targeting Crystal Palace’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka but that transfer is likely to cost too much.
It makes sense for the Norwegian to move onto more realistic transfers but Milan are unlikely to want to sell.
Unfortunately it appears as though buying anyone these days will cost too much so Manchester United may be better off investing in their top priorities.
