Eric Bailly’s Manchester United future confirmed: report

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United star Eric Bailly has reportedly confirmed his future at the club amid speculation over a potential move away.

The Ivorian was initially brought in to partner Victor Lindelof and form a solid centre-back pairing over the next decade.

Unfortunately that wish hasn’t come to fruition though the Swede has enjoyed his breakthrough season this year.

Bailly hasn’t managed the same success with his injuries consistently disrupting his development and it’s showed as he’s struggled with maintaining a place in the starting XI.

There have been rumours Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is willing to let the former Villarreal man go if he wishes to depart but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

According to Manchester Evening News, Eric is unfazed over speculation over his future and is committed to fighting for a place in the Red Devils’ starting XI despite Lyon’s interest in him.

It would be understandable if the 25 year old pushed for a move away given the lack of minutes he’s had this season.

Chris Smalling is also ahead of him in the pecking order which is something fans are still struggling to understand.

If Bailly can remain fit then there’s no real reason why he can’t force himself into the starting XI, unless Solskjaer opts to bring in a top centre-back this summer.
