Ole Gunnar Solskjaer deems these four stars as expendable: report

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly brought down the axe on four of his stars as he delivers on his promise to be ruthless this summer.

The Norwegian has previously stated his desire to gradually bring the current crop of players up to the club’s high standards but it appears he may have changed his mind.

Antonio Valencia and Ander Herrera are already the confirmed departures with both players choosing to leave at the end of their current contracts.

United can’t afford to lose too many players this summer as it’ll likely be difficult to replace them given the amount of players Solskjaer was said to be keen on signing.

Either way fans will be pleased with how the club legend has decided to pull apart the current squad given how average they are.

According to the Mirror, Ole wants to clear out the deadwood from the Red Devils’ squad, believing Juan Mata, Matteo Darmian, Romelu Lukaku and Marcos Rojo are all expendable.

The majority of supporters definitely feel the aforementioned names are disposable so it’s good to see the former Molde man on board too.

Whether Solskjaer will be given the funds to replace the players above or whether he plans on promoting youngsters to fill in the gaps remains to be seen.
