Sporting Lisbon star Bruno Fernandes has been busy discussing his future amid interest from both Manchester clubs.
The Portuguese emerged as a target of United’s and City’s after some stunning performances this season as he tallied up 20 goals and 13 assists in 33 games in league competition.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s reported desire to sign an attacking-midfielder sparked links with Old Trafford but a move is likely to cost a stunning amount.
The Citizens constant squad improvement has also seen them gain interest in Fernandes and so there could be a bidding war on the cards.
With transfer rumours constantly swirling, the talented midfielder has attempted to somewhat clear up his future.
According to the Express, Bruno said: “I’m with Sporting. There are no contacts with any club, at least as far as I know.
“There is a lot of talk, there are sure to be clubs interested but to this day, my focus has always been placed on Sporting.
“Now I want to rest because I have a lot to give to the national team.
“I’ve spent two intense years, I don’t know if I will spend a third year [at Sporting], I don’t know if I’m going to leave. No one knows the future.”
Paul Pogba is also capable of playing in the number ten role so bringing in Fernandes could see a nice fluid interchange between the two given the latter’s familiarty with the central-midfield position too.
However, that would raise question marks over Lingard’s role next season and Solskjaer is clearly a fan of him.
Either way, a completed transfer isn’t close just yet and it’s all merely speculation at the moment with fans unable to predict just who the Norwegian is keen to sign.
