Manchester United emerge as suitors for surprise target Ozan Kabak: report

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United have reportedly joined the pursuit of talented Bundesliga star Ozan Kabak in an effort to resolve their defensive woes.

The Turk has a growing reputation in European football and Stuttgart’s relegation has seen clubs lining up to sign him.

The centre-back is known for being a strong, ball-playing defender who has plenty of potential to grow.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a desire to invest smartly in young talent and so it makes sense he would be keen on Kabak.

Matthijs de Ligt is understood to be United’s first-choice target but perhaps he’s a little bit of an unrealistic signing.

According to the Daily Mail, the Red Devils can sign Ozan for just £13.2m due to a release clause in his contract but they’ll have to fight off Arsenal and Tottenham’s interest.

Solskjaer only really has to worry about Mauricio Pochettino’s side as they can offer Champions League football.

Manchester United can offer him Europa League football, plenty of wages and almost a guarantee of first-team football.

Whether that’s enough to convince Kabak to sign or not remains to be seen but with such a low release clause, a deal should be easy to conclude even with interest from other parties.
