PSG move one step closer to signing David de Gea: report

by Marwan Harraz

PSG have reportedly moved one step closer to signing Manchester United star David de Gea, potentially enraging fans over the possibility of losing their best player.

The goalkeeper is perhaps the club’s only world-class player in an otherwise rather average squad yet he’s been allowed to run down his contract.

The Spaniard has just a year left on his current deal with the French champions believed to be the most serious interested party in his signature.

United were previously said to be asking for around £60m but it was also claimed PSG could just wait for De Gea’s contract to expire.

Losing the former Atletico Madrid man for whatever reason would be disastrous for the club, particularly due to their leaky defence.

According to the Daily Mail, PSG’s interest in David has developed as evidenced by their decision to allow Gianluigi Buffon depart the club this summer.

The 28 year old could earn his reported £325k a week at the Ligue 1 side since the Red Devils are believed to be unwilling to pay him that sort of money.

De Gea is said to be rightfully unhappy at being paid less than some other undeserving teammates such as Alexis Sanchez, leaving Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with plenty work to do this summer.
