Manchester United have reportedly revived interest in AS Monaco star Youri Tielemans as they search for Paul Pogba’s replacement.
The Frenchman is expected to be on his way out with Real Madrid beckoning him and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer appears to be preparing for the worst.
United were certainly hoping to spend the summer bringing players in but now they could also end up spending it replacing some of their current crop.
Tielemans was superb for Leicester City last season and rightfully gained plenty of attention but he has since returned to his parent club.
It appeared interest in him fizzled out until now with Solskjaer keen to replace Pogba with a player full of potential.
According to the Sun, the Red Devils have reopened talks for Youri with Monaco willing to sell if their £40m asking price is met.
That figure shouldn’t be out of Ole’s reach and spending it on a player who has already had one successful season in the Premier League is hardly a risk.
Leicester are also said to be a little tight with money and so won’t make an approach, leaving Manchester United a clear shot at completing the transfer.
The question is if Pogba doesn’t end up leaving will Solskjaer want Tielemans either way or is only a like for like transfer?
