Manchester United have received a significant boost in the race for AS Monaco star Youri Tielemans signature after reports emerged that they could potentially sign him with no challenge from different clubs.
The Belgian’s performances for Leicester City last season saw him garner plenty of interest, particularity from Premier League clubs.
United recently emerged as one of those interested in signing him as a potential replacement to the outgoing Paul Pogba.
The Frenchman has admitted publicly to a desire for a new challenge and Tielemans would restore some of the playmaking ability Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would miss.
Leicester themselves only recently dropped their interest after deciding to chase cheaper alternatives but now there’s even more good news for the Norwegian.
According to Football Insider, Tottenham have pulled out of the race for Youri’s signature after learning about his £40m plus asking price from Monaco.
The figure the Ligue 1 side are looking for is hardly out of the Red Devils reach and does represent decent value.
Tielemans has plenty of potential left in him and if he really is a replacement for Pogba then the funds raised from the Frenchman can be spent elsewhere.
It’s believed Manchester United are looking for a midfielder either way and so signing the youngster would be a good move regardless.
