Manchester United turn to two senior Barcelona stars in summer overhaul: report

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United have reportedly turned to two senior Barcelona stars in a move seemingly in preparation of Paul Pogba’s potential departure to Real Madrid.

The Frenchman publicly stated a desire for a new challenge and so Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have to search for more signings to make.

It was believed a midfielder was already on the shortlist but now United will have to add another in what was already a busy enough summer.

Solskjaer’s rebuild was already going to be tough enough but he now has the added stresses of some outgoing stars such as Pogba, David de Gea, Romelu Lukaku, Juan Mata and Marcus Rashford.

Turning to experienced stars may be the solution but it does appear to be against the Norwegian’s transfer policy.

According to the Mirror, Mundo Deportivo report that the Red Devils will step up their interest in Ivan Rakitic and Philippe Coutinho is also on their shortlist.

The Croatian is said to have been monitored by those at Old Trafford for a few seasons now but there’s been no move for him yet.

Rakitic is also not keen on leaving the Spanish side but he may be forced out given how they want the funds to sign their own targets.
