Juventus are reportedly lining up a bid for Manchester United star Matteo Darmian in one of the surprises of the summer transfer window.
The Italian has been linked with a move back to Italy for a few seasons now but nothing has ever materialised.
The main reason appears to be that no one has truly met United’s evaluation of the defender and so he’s been stuck at the club.
Darmian has proven himself to be a decent full-back but not one that would normally be associated with a top European side.
The Serie A giant though, may be keen on a bargain buy given that they’re more keen on spending their money on other positions.
According to the Sun, Juventus are afraid they’ll lose Joao Cancelo to Manchester City and so have targeted Matteo as a cheap replacement.
Another possible reason for the Old Lady’s interest could be how they spent big on Cristiano Ronaldo last season and so can’t afford to overspend once again.
Juventus are also said to be keen on Paul Pogba which would mean they would hardly have any money left to spend on a replacement for Cancelo should they be successful in their attempt for the Frenchman.
