Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen on Aston Villa’s John McGinn

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly chasing Aston Villa star John McGinn is he continues his summer squad overhaul.

The Norwegian has seen deals for Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka recently wrapped up and it appears he’s not quite done yet.

United have seen both Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera depart over the past six months so it’s clear there is a need to invest in their engine room.

McGinn fits the young, British model of player Solskjaer is moulding his transfer policy on so it’s not entirely crazy the 24 year old would be linked with a move to Old Trafford.

The former Molde manager will have to pay up big though as the Birmingham club are unwilling to lose a key player for little.

According to The Sun, Ole wants to bring in John to add dynamism to his predictable midfield but Aston Villa are demanding £50m for their star player.

It’s unlikely the Red Devils would part with such a fee when there are cheaper, more proven options in the market.

However, Solskjaer has been relentless in the pursuit of his targets so far so it’s not too far-fetched for him to do the same with McGinn.
