Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly enquired about Leicester City star Harry Maguire as rumours continue to swirl over a possible transfer.
The Englishman is currently embroiled in a tug of war between the Norwegian’s side and Manchester City though it’s believed the former are favourites in comparison to the latter.
The centre-back has been targeted by Solskjaer who clearly feels he is the man to take United’s defence to the next level.
Old Trafford saw far too many goals conceded last season and it’s no secret it’s an area of the pitch that needs serious investment.
Although Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been wrapped up, it’s believed the former Molde manager wants to bring in another defender with Maguire his main target.
According to the Mirror, Ole consulted his English players who informed him Harry has the right attitude and will certainly have a positive effect on the squad.
Sir Alex Ferguson used to do the same thing in terms of enquiring over players he’s interested in by discussing it with people he trusted, whether it was current or former players.
Fans have questioned however whether Maguire is worth investing in simply due to his incredibly high price-tag thanks to Leicester’s reluctance to sell.
