Three Manchester United stars excluded from pre-season tour

Manchester United stars Matteo Darmian, Fred and Dean Henderson were all missing from the club’s pre-season tour squad amid uncertainty over their futures.

The trio were the only players who didn’t make the squad out of the usual first-team members but for various reasons.

Darmian’s future is very much up in the air as it has been for two seasons now as he continues to be linked with a return to Italy.

Fred didn’t enjoy the best of debut seasons but improved as the year went on despite the difficult end to the campaign as a team.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would surely prefer having all three on board though he does adequate numbers for what is expected to be a thrilling pre-season tour.

According to the Mirror, Fred and Matteo were excused for ‘family reasons’ while Henderson is expected to renew his contract before returning to another loan spell with Sheffield United.

The Brazilian is not expected to leave just a single year after joining, particularly after Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini‘s departures and with Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba said to be edging to a transfer away so his excuse may be genuine.

Darmian though may remain behind in order to push a move away but in terms of official records, both Fred and himself are expected to meet up with the squad later on.
