Manchester United edge closer to compromise for Harry Maguire

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United could potentially have a breakthrough in negotiations for Leicester City star Harry Maguire this week according to reports.

The ball-playing Englishman has been a target of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s all summer yet a deal has dragged on with it looking likely at times of nothing happening at all.

The Foxes have been stubborn in their stance over Maguire as they are under no pressure to sell him given how their finances are in a healthy state.

Keeping that in mind, that means they can sell him for more than his market value and don’t really have to in the first place other than to keep him happy.

It’s believed Harry has remained professional so far and it’s unlikely that will change even if a deal falls through.

According to the Mirror, Leicester want a fee in excess of £80m but a compromise between the two sides may be struck as early as this week with a £78m cash fee with the Red Devils finally getting their man.

There have been mixed feelings regarding interest in Maguire with some fans feeling the amount being spent is far too high.

Others feel the money shouldn’t matter as the talented centre-back is an improvement on Manchester United’s current defensive options.
