Harry Maguire appears happy to complete Manchester United move

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United’s close-to-be-official latest signing Harry Maguire has been spotted leaving the club’s facilities smiling after reportedly completing his medical.

The experts on the deal had claimed the talented Englishman won’t be officially announced until Monday and that seems to be the case despite a breakthrough in negotiations happening on Friday.

On Saturday Ole Gunnar Solskjaer pretty much confirmed the transfer, stating only minor, insignificant details were left to conclude and so there should be no issues.

Maguire will be the legendary Norwegian’s third signing after Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James with United seemingly focussing solely on British talent so far.

It was believed all through negotiations the former Hull man was pushing for the transfer to happen which may have helped proceedings.

The need for a quality centre-back at Old Trafford has been well documented and it’s interesting to see Solskjaer believe Maguire is that man.

Perhaps the more interesting matter is seeing who the former Molde man will decide to sell given the well overstocked defensive position.

Chris Smalling, Eric Bailly, Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo, Victor Lindelof and Axel Tuanzebe were all Solskjaer’s options before Maguire’s arrival.

With just two positions in the starting XI, it’s not farfetched to say at least two of the aforementioned players will be moved on.
