Manchester United fans couldn’t hide their delight after Harry Maguire was officially announced as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s third signing of the summer.
The baby-faced Norwegian has opted for an all British transfer policy so far but supporters have not complained having been impressed by both Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James in pre-season.
Maguire might be thrown right into the deep-end and feature for United right away with the first clash coming up against Chelsea.
Solskjaer previously stated it would depend on the talented Englishman’s fitness but given how he’s played in matches for Leicester in pre-season, that shouldn’t be a problem.
Victor Lindelof, Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw will likely form the former Molde man’s first-choice defence alongside Maguire with the Red Devils’ backline suddenly looking stronger.

There’s been plenty of debate over Maguire’s arrival and the cash spent on him but what is undeniable is that he improves Manchester United’s defence.
Some felt the towering centre-back costed far too much and the money could’ve been put to better use.
To be fair to United, English clubs are no longer under any financial pressure to sell their best players so it makes sense that Leicester asked for a huge sum.
