Manchester United supporters are in favour of their club’s late bid to sign Christian Eriksen from Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
Bruno Fernandes has been mooted as Man United’s top target of the summer, but the BBC confirmed on Sunday night that the Portuguese midfielder was not on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s transfer wishlist.
Instead, according to the Telegraph‘s James Ducker, United have displayed interest in signing Eriksen, who Spurs would be reportedly willing to sell for £60m, before Thursday’s transfer deadline.
In response, we asked the good people of Twitter what they thought of the potential move.

While not exactly unanimous, there was an overwhelming majority of support for United signing the Denmark international.
I would like that

I would be happy to get him, but this reeks of incompetence.

That last tweet begs an important question: is this move for Eriksen – the early tremors of which started up over the weekend – something United have worked on throughout the summer, or are they simply throwing money at the situation in a state of panic?
Either way, he fits the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer model – namely, a dynamic, propulsive midfielder capable of operating in tight spaces under pressure, with plenty of Premier League experience under his belt. For a midfield which is, as things stand, far too slow, Eriksen’s addition would be a smart move.
