Andreas Pereira: I feel stronger under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s management

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United star Andreas Pereira has praised Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s management following the club’s 4-0 rout of Chelsea.

The versatile Brazilian had impressed in pre-season and even grabbed an assist after being handed an unexpected start.

Pereira slotted right into a midfield three alongside Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay as the trio kept Chelsea at bay.

The midfield prospect will surely be hoping to finally have a breakthrough season for United and he won’t get a better time than now.

The club’s failure to sign a midfielder having let both Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini to leave without replacements means Pereira should get plenty of minutes.

Under Jose Mourinho, Pereira was utilised all over the pitch but mostly as a defensive midfielder in a role that didn’t get the best out of him.

Solskjaer has also taken advantage of the dazzling youngster’s versatility but the Norwegian manager mostly handed him minutes further forward.

The question is whether Pereira can continue taking advantage of the game time he receives, especially if his manager plays a 4-3-3 consistently.

After all, Solskjaer had mostly opted for a 4-2-3-1 throughout pre-season and so that may diminish his opportunities a little given the position would be given to someone else.
