Manchester United fail to see eye to eye with Inter Milan on Alexis Sanchez deal

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United have reportedly hit a stumbling block in negotiations with Inter Milan for the potential loan of Alexis Sanchez.

The experienced Chilean has quickly become a target of the Italian giants who are looking to add firepower to their squad.

United have already sold Romelu Lukaku to Inter but it appears they’re not quite satisfied with their attacking options, perhaps due to Ivan Perisic’s loan away.

Moving Sanchez on was always going to be difficult given the high wages he earns and how little an impact he’s made since arriving at Old Trafford.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had recently backed the versatile attacker to improve this season but it appears the tides have changed after the player’s desire to leave became apparent.

According to the Times, the Red Devils are only willing to pay £150k a week of Sanchez’s deal with the player himself having no desire to take a pay cut.

This stumbling block means an agreement is far from close with Inter Milan only willing to spend less than half of his £20m a year wages.

It seems it would take some smart negotiating still to complete this deal but either way it’s clear Manchester United will be suffering some loss due to their previously bad decision making.
