Luke Shaw deals Manchester United another blow after inconsistent start

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United star Luke Shaw is reportedly out for some time after picking up a knock in the loss against Crystal Palace.

The young Englishman was substituted off the field with Ashley Young taking his place but neither could prevent the embarrassing 2-1 defeat.

Shaw is easily United’s best left-back option and the lack of real competition in that position is certainly a concern.

Young will probably fill in for the former Southampton man in his absence but fans won’t be pleased as they had high hopes for him.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men have been inconsistent so far this season, defeating Chelsea 4-0 while drawing 1-1 with Wolves and, as aforementioned, losing to Palace.

According to talkSPORT, Shaw will be out for four weeks with a hamstring injury in what is surely a blow to the Red Devils’ hopes of embarking on a winning run.

The injury will mean he will likely miss the clashes against Southampton, Leicester City and West Ham while the top six battle with Arsenal may be too soon for him to return to.

The last thing Manchester United needed was even more unsettling news given how pressure was created unnecessarily in regards to their penalty-taking responsibilities amidst two missed penalties in two games.
