Manchester United fans were certainly pleased for Mason Greenwood after he grabbed his first senior goal for the club against Astana.
The young Englishman started the Europa League fixture with plenty of expectations with supporters keen on seeing their wonder-kid in action.
So far this season Greenwood has mostly appeared off the bench so it was a real opportunity to see him work his magic from the start.
While it took a while to come, it was thanks to the academy product that United won the match at all as they scraped by 1-0.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be disappointed with how the match went but one of the few positives was Greenwood grabbing the game by the scruff of the neck and netting the winner.

Made up for Greenwood. What a player he’s going to be. Well deserved.

Greenwood’s goal is reminiscent of another youngster who rose to stardom for Manchester United in the Europa League in Marcus Rashford.
Hopefully the 17 year old can have a similar trajectory in terms of how Rashford sky-rocketed to become a starting XI regular.
It’s fair to say it’s now the easiest time it has been in recent years for youngsters to break through, particularly attacking ones given United’s lack of depth.
