Manchester United fans have perhaps not taken Marcus Rashford‘s apology as he intended following the shock loss to Newcastle.
Both sides have been poor all season but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men were still favourites to pick up all three points.
However, United couldn’t even muster a single point as they fell to 12th place as their poor start to the season continues.
Solskjaer must be wondering what went wrong after his side’s opening day 4-0 defeat of Chelsea as they’ve failed to look as good since.
Rashford featured against Newcastle but didn’t impress with some fans believing he’s not fit to lead the line for the Red Devils.
You can’t hide in football and the last few weeks simply haven’t been good enough.
As a United fan myself, that hurts. And you deserve better.
We know we need to improve and that is our sole focus as a team and as a club. pic.twitter.com/GyHgvQvxeM

I know this club means a lot to you and this will be hurting you just as much as it’s hurting us but the end of your tweet is wrong. The club don’t feel the same way that you do, or we do. If they did care we would never find ourselves in this position.

The teams just not good enough pampered 'stars' paid too much too soon for achieving nothing. Everything that's wrong with the club…#GlazersOut

There’s certainly an argument to be made that Rashford is a better performer from the left-wing but it’s also a little tough to call given how the team in general have been in poor form.
Fans though will definitely be glad when Anthony Martial returns from injury and they’ll be hoping he can help Manchester United climb back up the table.
Solskjaer’s men face Liverpool next with a defeat potentially seeing them fall into the relegation zone in what will infuriate supporters who are no longer willing to be patient.
