Mario Mandzukic plans to begin training with Manchester United in December ahead of officially completing a move to Old Trafford over the January transfer window, according to reports.
United and Juventus came close to completing a deal for Mandzukic over the summer window only for the prospective move to collapse after talks over Paulo Dybala were stopped due to complications over image rights.
Mandzukic, however, is destined to leave Turin in January having not made a single appearance under new boss Maurizio Sarri, who does not consider the Croat to be part of his plans.
According to the Tuttosport, the player has resolved to move to Manchester in December as a means of getting back up to speed in training ahead of formally joining the club in January.
Reports have stated that the two clubs reached an agreement on a fee of £10m earlier this season, although others suggest that United may have to pay between £13m and £15m altogether.
Either way, United’s main – and possibly only – target for the transfer window looks growingly likely to be at the club in January. He is certainly not staying put in Turin.
