Dylan Levitt puts in near-perfect shift in loss to Astana

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United starlet Dylan Levitt has arguably put in the strongest showing of the academy stars in the unfortunate loss to Astana.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer opted for a youthful side for the Europa League fixture given how his first-team have already qualified for the next round.

Many youngsters made their debuts while others who made rare appearances were handed starts.

Levitt made his debut and if one was watching with no context, it’d be hard to believe that was his first start.

Playing alongside James Garner in midfield, the pair kept possession well for United though the former arguably played better than the latter.

His tackle rate and passes completed are impressive enough but it’s his quality of passes that’s so incredible.

Not only did he pass forward frequently but it was accurately and into dangerous areas of the field despite playing as part of a holding midfield pair.

His performance merits being given more minutes in the league now but perhaps more so coming off the bench until he further develops.

If Levitt can keep it up and Garner also slowly grows into his role then United may suddenly find themselves overflowing with midfield options which will be helpful if Paul Pogba does end up leaving.
