Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has ruled Paul Pogba out of Manchester United’s meeting with Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday, adding that last-minute calls would have to be made regarding Scott McTominay and Nemanja Matic.

The Frenchman has only played five times this season due to a foot injury sustained during a 1-1 draw with Southampton prior to the September international break.

Matic has an unspecified injury, while Scott McTominay picked up an ankle problem during United’s 3-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Solskjaer did not sound positive about the midfield trio.

That said, it has been claimed that McTominay ought to be ready to return for this game, even if he is not fully fit.

Jose Mourinho, back in the visitors dugout, used to say that the players he liked most were ones who made themselves available for games like these, pushing through injury concerns and worrying about the effects later.

McTominay is certainly one of those people, and will no doubt make a big difference to the tone and feel of United’s midfield against the North London club.
