Manchester United star Victor Lindelof has surprisingly excelled in a stat many wouldn’t have predicted he could despite his brilliant display against Manchester City.
The ball-playing Swede had started the season in poor form but started to pick up in recent matches with his peak coming in perfect timing.
In fact, it wouldn’t be too farfetched to say Lindelof has been performing better than summer signing Harry Maguire lately.
United supporters are more or less fans of the former Benfica man but some have been disappointed this season with there even being some calls for Axel Tuanzebe to replace him.
It’s possible that could end up being the case in the future but for now Lindelof is doing everything possible on his side to ensure that doesn’t happen.
Lindelöf ranks very high for defensive duel success from Europe's CBs (11th) – 95th percentile!
If he can improve his ability in the air and his overall command and dominance – he is improving in that – he can become a great partner for Maguire at the back. https://t.co/62fJk84yjw

Of course the weaknesses begin in terms of aerial duels but there’s hope he can improve in that aspect.
With Maguire alongside him as well, the hope is the too can compliment each other well enough to cover each other’s weaknesses.
After all, the talented Englishman isn’t exactly the fastest defender in the world so Lindelof’s pace helps bail him out too.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is clearly happy with them as a pairing and it could be sometime before fans see either one of them displaced.
