Manchester United scout RB Salzburg’s clash with Liverpool

by Marwan Harraz

Manchester United have potentially hinted at who their next signing will be after sending one of their top scouts to watch RB Salzburg’s Champions League clash vs Liverpool.

It was a chance for the Austrian side’s players to make an impact but they failed to do so after losing 2-0.

United are unlikely to be phased by that as multiple scouting trips are normally needed before a decision is made on a player.

There have been rumours heavily linking Erling Haaland with a move to Old Trafford with some feeling it’s only inevitable given his relationship with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

However, there’ve also been whispers of interest in Hee-Chan Hwang and Takumi Minamino so perhaps the Red Devils were scouting them instead.

Sending your head of global scouting is pretty serious and so it seems Manchester United were having one last look before making their call.

A transfer for Haaland is possible given Solskjaer’s reported desire to sign a striker this winter but with so much interest in the player it could prove a complicated deal.

There have been question marks over what it means for Anthony Martial’s position at the club but some have suggested the legendary Norwegian is not opposed to a two-striker formation.
