Olé Gunnar Solskjaer’s half-time team talk transforms young Manchester United side

by Red Billy

Olé Gunnar Solskjaer rallied his Manchester United troops at half time to spur them to a convincing victory over AZ Alkmaar at Old Trafford tonight.

Whatever the Norwegian said in the dressing room after 45 minutes seemed to transform their performance from a stale and uninspiring first half to a breath-taking and passionate second that saw the Reds score 4 goals in the space of 12 minutes.

‘There wasn’t any cups flying or anything. We just had to get the troops together and back to what we’re good at’, the manager said in a post-match interview.

Whether it was a case of a tactical change, man motivation or both, Solskjaer was the key to this United victory and in so doing, answered his critics for the third time in the space of eight memorable days.
