Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gives update on Manchester United injuries ahead of Everton game

Olé Gunnar Solksjaer has given an injury update ahead of the Premier League game against Everton on Sunday.

In this afternoon’s pre-match manager’s press conference, Solskjaer acknowledged that Jesse Lingard has not trained since the injury he sustained in the Manchester derby last weekend and remains a doubt for the fixture with the Toffees. The manager said he was keen to get Lingard back as soon as possible, stating ‘he’s been fit, he’s been training well, so we hope so [that he’ll be fit]’

The manager also confirmed that Paul Pogba will definitely take no part in the game and has still not started training with the team. Solskjaer stated ‘Paul will probably start training next week with us properly, so let’s see’.

The better news concerned Eric Bailly and Tim Fosu-Mensah, both of whom will be resuming full training with the team next week after long layoffs, Solskjaer confirmed.
Fosu-Mensah has recovered from knee ligament surgery following an injury sustained when playing on loan at Fulham in April last season. Bailly also went under the knife following a knee injury sustained during the International Champions Cup pre-season game against Spurs in July.

Marcos Rojo and Diogo Dalot are the other players still sidelined.
